Turn Signal Cancelling Cam

My turn signal switch will not shut off when I make a left turn. Works well making a right turn. Both blinkers work. I am thinking cancelling cam. Thoughts.

Re: Turn Signal Cancelling Cam

There's little springs in there that break .
I have one on my own to fix , it's one job I don't like have to pull the steering wheel to get at it all. I have the new springs just got to do it.

The exact same thing happened to my 84 Sierra. I found a missing spring in the switch so replaced it, and it works as it should now.

Re: Turn Signal Cancelling Cam

readers are correct again. I pulled the steering wheel and got to the turn signal unit. One spring is missing. So I ordered a set today. I hope this fixes it.

Re: Turn Signal Cancelling Cam

installed new spring all is good. BUT since I have this column apart I see and feel some up and down movement in the top part of the column. Watched some utube videos . seems a common problem that has a fix of tearing the column apart to tighten 4 bolts.
Thinking of going ahead and doing the repair. Anyone want to talk me out of it? LOL

Re: Turn Signal Cancelling Cam

There is a step by step on the forum here somewhere..After reading it I had the local garage do it. They had a guy who had done many. My eyes aint what they used to be. It sort of looked like building a watch to me. They charged me $200.00
