Cool Re: Lets see the engine pics!!

Here's the original heart that my C/10 Zooey had when she was built. She had 190,000 when I pulled it out. Now that ol' 307 small block sits in the back of the tractor shed waiting to go in a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu. And my Parts truck a 1969 Chevrolet C/20 had a 350 with an oil bath air cleaner it's still on the truck frame out back of my shop I duck taped all the holes and there's a 2 inch locust tree growing up right beside the transmission ( I really need to cut it down and remove the engine someday lol)

Re: Lets see the engine pics!!

How about an ugly (but original) little 283? This is after install of the HEI and a cleanup/repaint on the valve covers when I put new gaskets on them. I have scrubbed the firewall down some since this photo was taken and converted the old oil bath breather to paper element as well.

This all started with a pulled rocker stud

Then morphed into Vortex heads TPI and CNP

Underside of hood. It was black from the factory. I debated whether to leave it black, but decided on body color. Just my opinion, the underside being body color looks much better.

Re: Lets see the engine pics!!

Here's an L31 Vortec engine I'm rebuilding. Pulled it from a 97 Tahoe at Pick-n-Pull with 130k miles. Aiming for 9.7:1 static compression and .040" quench. Going with an XR276HR roller cam and beehive valve springs with thread-in rocker studs. The head gaskets are back-ordered until late January, so it's just sitting there in my garage waiting patiently.

It ain’t as sexy and shiny as some, but I rebuilt it myself, and it runs like a top.
