When selling your truck
When selling your truck how do you deal with letting people take it on a test drive? Do you tag along or just let them go?

oh you better not let someone take off in your truck without you in it! they will buy the truck because they like the truck not becuase you were or were not there on the test ride. and let them hot rod it a little bit but not burn the tires off of it!!

well if you just let them take it you don't have to worry about gettin rid of it!!!
ALWAYS GO WITH THEM!!!! i like to take a ride with me driving first then if they seem real interested let them drive back. don't forget that with them driving you're still responsible for anything that happens with the truck and if they seem to be dangerous drivers don't hesitate to have them pull over and stop another good tip is to not get out of the truck ,have them get out and walk around while you just slide accross the seat. that way you're not standing on the side of the road watching your truck drive away

I normally let the person take the truck out by themselves. Normally the vehicle the person drives to come see my truck is nicer than my truck. I figure if they steal my stuff I come out ahead.

When I was looking for my Truck the first chance I had to see it the owner wasn't around. I did the usual and looked it over and such. His girlfriend was around for me to look at the truck that day and when she gave me the keys to take it for a spin I declined saying "I should wait till he's (Mark) is around" to talk to me about the truck.
The following visit he took me out in the truck letting me drive the whole time, he did give me pointers and such as he could tell this was the first old truck I'd driven. Things most youth take for granted like no power breaks/more pressure to stop the beast etc, etc. Hope this helps. Brian

When I sold my 93 cop car stang, I took them for a drive first & let them think about it. If they called back & were actually interested, I took them for an 'enthusiastic' drive the second time. I then let them drive but I did request that they go easy until the title was in their name. No power shifts..... no burn-outs, until it's out of your name!

I show up in my police uniform, tell them if they take it I'll hunt them down and do things to them that they will wish the crappy judicial system in this country would take care of them. You know, something subtle like that.

The guy that sold me my blazer not only let me take it for a test drive my self, he let me keep it for a day!?!??!?! I was like errr uh, alright! Brought it home, went through the 4x4 etc. Thought i busted it when i put the t-case in N instead of 2H, shifted to drive - and i wasnt going no place!!!! Figured that out quick though. Even had to wash some mud (from puddles on dirt roads) off before i brought it back!!! The guy even offered to give me money to fill it up before i took it for the day, told him it was NP and i'd take care of it myself. $4,500 and a day later it was mine!
