'67-'72 Rear Bumper

Need a new Primed Rear Bumper for my '72 C-10 Longbed Fleetside. Are they all the same quality or are some better than others out there?

Thanks

Re: '67-'72 Rear Bumper

I deleted my first post and am editing this one. I misread, or read what wasn't there, more like it. I somehow thought you wanted a step bumper and was asking if all years were the same.

Your best bet would be Key Parts, IMO

Re: '67-'72 Rear Bumper

Not sure which bumper you're wanting. I just installed a Key Parts smoothie bumper on my '70 fleetside. Very nice quality (in spite of the condition of the box, on delivery). Slightly different than stock. The ends wrap around the body and the center section is wider to better hide the area below the tailgate. I picked mine up at Jegs. They also have other styles. Here's a link https://www.jegs.com/i/Key-Parts/576...del=C10+PICKUP

Re: '67-'72 Rear Bumper

I'm looking for a factory original replacement. Would love to go with an NOS, but I doubt they are that available. Looking for the best quality I can find.

Tim, I always believed that the '67-'72 Factory Rear Painted Bumpers for a Fleetside were the same ??

Also, I'm just looking for a Standard Bumper. Not a Step and Tow.

Re: '67-'72 Rear Bumper

Just to make it clear to everyone out there, I'm just looking for a Standard Painted Rear Bumper, like this truck has:

https://www.connorsmotorcar.com/vehi...-chevrolet-c10 (3rd and 4th picture)

Need to know who would sell the best quality one, or are they all the same?

Thanks

Painted Sport Bumper vs. dealer supplied step bumper.

As far as aftermarket quality.... that seems to be hit & miss. I would simply base my purchase from a vendor w/a decent return policy.

Re: '67-'72 Rear Bumper

Appreciate the replies and just to make it "extra clear", I'm looking for a Factory Original Type, Re-Produced, Standard, Painted Rear Bumper. (like the one in the link I posted).

I would post one of my own truck, if I knew how, lol.

Re: '67-'72 Rear Bumper

I can vouch for GMCPaul's parts quality as they seem to sell the better reproductions or not sell them at all. I did have to return a few trim items due to some scuffs and scratches, but I bought my chromed bumpers from them a they where very nice. They have the painted versions too...

https://gmcpauls.com/bumpers1.htm

Your looking for part number 3596382. If I were going for a painted bumper, I'd look around for a good used one, repair, blast, and paint myself...then go to GMC Pauls if I could not find a used one for a good deal.

Re: '67-'72 Rear Bumper

GMC Paul's is a great source for part/s from a quality perspective. He won't sell crap & I'm pretty sure he's highlighted potential issues on some parts so you know before purchasing.

Re: '67-'72 Rear Bumper

Appreciate GMC Paul's recommendations. Does anyone know what brands he carries?

Edit: I did notice brands listed on his website. Thanks

Re: '67-'72 Rear Bumper

I gander to say Key Parts. I edited my earlier step bumper posts and suggested Key Parts.

By the way, I've always heard good things about GMC Paul's but I have noticed through the years that you can't call only communicate by E-mail. I just checked again and could not find a phone number. Is this correct?

Just heard back from GMC Paul's and to my surprise, they are called "Sport Bumpers". It first sounded like a custom bumper to me, but little did I know that is what they are called. Thanks.

Yep, I finished my '72 last year and that's the way it was...email only. They are very good about responding within a day, but a few back and forths and a few days could get eaten. I'd like a phone number too, but they do real good with just email.

Too often, calling a customer service line REALLY p's me off. I can't say I blame them for not having a number.
