By the way, I haven't read anywhere what your body color is, so can you tell us now? Are you sticking with a carb?

Just went thru your entire thread. The work you do is very impressive. Your truck looks amazing. I was wondering if you could give me some details on your rear axle setup? I see your width is 54". What is your tire width and wheel specs?

Just read through your thread. Just found it! I don’t get to the main forum page very often. Love the color. You do great work. Hope you get to drive it before it gets too cold. Can’t wait to see it done.

Re: 1956 3100 build

Been looking over your build and I have a question. After repainting the cab steps, will you leave them painted or going to put something over the fresh paint??

Hey 56, I was reading back through where you used a 80 GM parking brake assembly. Where/how did you mount the release handle, with your dash extention? Any more pics?
Thanks, Jim

Re: 1956 3100 build

Hey 56, after looking at other 73-87 GM parking brake assemblies they all look the same, but not like yours in your pic. They seem to have a longer arm and stamping. Do you know the exact year that you used?
Thanks, Jim

Re: 1956 3100 build

Hey bowt1ed i did same as OrrieG on this forum did for his brake. i went this route because of under dash valance . i put out a message on facebook to someone i knew that had some 73-87 chev/gmc squarebody parts. here is measurement of pedal length.10 1/2" from pivot point to bottom.

Re: 1956 3100 build

got 3 point seat belts fabbed up. fished 1/4" x 1 1/2" flat bar up in pillar(not seen in pics) also used same size flat bar for belt points on floor. 1/2" bolts. someone on this site suggested dodge dakota and it worked out well using rear set( less wear).

sound deadner started as well.

Re: 1956 3100 build

tried my luck on karfing wood to curve for subwoofer box/amp mounting. allowing back of cabinet to follow cab shape where amps are mounted.
cuts made here

box test fit. happy with curves in areas behind amps.

black carpet arived time to cover it soon..
