New sport mirror trouble

Got these new mirrors and they are a nice quality but pass. side won,t move far in enough to see the side of the truck, it hits the stem of the mirror. I don,t think there is a solution but just to let you know.

Re: New sport mirror trouble

Where did you get them? Does the passenger side have the "closer than they appear" or is it a plain mirror?

My passenger side mirror glass is out on my truck. I glued a new mirror in there years ago (plain mirror) and it fell back out. Need to get a replacement.

I got them from summit , $40 I think. You can get the pass. side with the convex . The plain ones are either right or left from united pacific or you can get fancy with a built in led indicator light inside the mirror

Re: New sport mirror trouble

I got the same ones for my 73. I filed down the area of the base so mirror would move more. They do not hold position very well especially when going thru automatic car wash. I still had my OE with broke mirror. Finally found mirror replacement on ebay and OE holds very good.

Re: New sport mirror trouble

those are the same as what "N2TRUX" installed on his "Jake" build. they are by UP and I was always under the impression that they are good quality, have never heard about any issues... hhhmmm, maybe try to "flip" the mirrors? I don't think they are side specific, but might be? I am getting ready to install a set of LMC sport mirrors on my '86 and did notice that the mirror placement might be be a little precarious.... keep us posted...
