Looking for 73+ swb in Cali

hey guys,
I'm looking for a decent swb truck in Cali. I'd like to spend no more than 3k so I'm not expecting to get something super decent, just a solid truck that could use a bit of work.

thanks,
colin

swb??? What's that??? I have a 73 in washington. Some body rust. Bed is rusted and needs replaced. Motor runs strong I have the stock quadrapuke that came on it. Some wiring needs replaced and just a little bit of work here and there. For the most part it is turn key starting, there is an exhaust leak in the right manifold that blows right on the starter so sometimes you have to wait for it to start. Not so sure I want to sell it but for the right price you never know.

hey,
A swb is a shortbed (short wheelbase). How bad is the rot? I can probably find one here in Cali that needs a motor or something but I'd rather just get something that runs decent and has all of the smog stuff. Mind you, vehicles 75 and older don't require smog here in Cali anymore.

Do you have pics of the truck?
thanks,
colin

sorry I don't have a short wheelbase mine is a longbed. I do have a frame if you are interested. If you cannot find a swb in cali just pm and I will get you all the parts there are plenty up here and I have all the sources to put a truck together for you if you want a swb truck that runs nice.

colin, there are regularly a half dozen or more of them in the trader every week here in san diego.. rarely are they over 3K ... for 3 grand you should be able to get something in good working condition, i.e. a very good starting point.....

Hey.. that sounds more along the lines I'm looking at.. I kinda want something running. I already have a 72 Cheyenne Super shortbed half restored and a 70 402 CST shortbed about 1/3 restored. I kinda don't want another project at this time

I'll definitely keep my eyes peeled on the SD AutoTrader.. thanks for the heads up

take care,
colin

lol..

Well, I don't need another show truck. I just need something that I can drive around and is reliable. As of right now, my Dad's truck is out of commission (72 big block longbed half ton) after being stolen and the harness hacked all up.

Thanks Tim,
Colin
