From my understanding it's the tank that has the filler neck that goes through the bed. There is a cover over the filler neck and vent tube on the inside of the bed. I haven't confirmed but I think the shape of the tank is different than the saddle tanks as well. Here are a couple pictures of what I believe to be the NL2 tank.
