P brake idiot light

Why is it when I get in the truck I get so distracted? Forget it is in gear and try to start. Forget the the P brake. Forget the wheel barrel behind the truck. I don't do that with the other cars.
That said...has anyone figured out a grounding switch for a parking brake idiot light?

Yes. I recall seeing a post (and pix I believe) showing how they did it. Memory serves me it seems pretty simple project. Perhaps do a search in this forum or someone else will remember who that person was.

I think for the wheelbarrow behind the truck I'm going to try this radar system. I have it on my wishlist.

Yea almost everything is Abbreviated now a days.
I have to look most of them up.

To answer your question.
It depends on how you use it.
If you are sitting still when you apply it,
Then it's a Parking brake.

If you are going down the road and hit the Brake pedal and it goes to the floor after several pumps.
Then that makes it an Emergency Brake.

Re: P brake idiot light

In my case, it's a P brake because even when the pedal goes to the floor, I'll have to open the door to mash down the tiny pedal to stop the beast. I grew up on Euro/Asian cars so E brake will always be a lever next to the stick for me.

I'm calling mine the FLP(far-left pedal) just to make things more confusing

Re: P brake idiot light

Got to love todays auto parts counter clerk. If you don't have a make model and year of a vehicle for the part you are looking for, they do not have the knowledge or skill to find the part. I guess I'll go find a chinese micro switch off flea bay.
