Angry got new rims that dont fit!

i got me a set of cragars ss's 12x15 8'' bksp out back and 8x15 3.5''bxsp up front
well...
the inside of the rim is too narrow to fit over the caliper or the drum so they dont fit! the front ones i can return, but the backs were special order and took a month to get. So im out $400.

For Sale:
2 Cragar SS Rims
12x15 8'' backspacing
too narrow to fit our trucks
Brand new only been looked at
$200

This might be a dumb question but, Can you get an axle with smaller diameter brake drums? What do you have now?

I think I'd be looking for a machine shop to turn out the i.d. of the wheels so they fit over you hubs.

Your wheel dealer should have measured the drums and advised you on fit. However he got paid and you are stuck with them unless you can trade.Maybe the manufacture can offer a solution or will accept them as long as you buy some that will fit with the refund.

Hey man, I would say screw the tire shop! If they sold you a rim that wasn't for your truck, special order or not, they should take it back.

Go in there and B!tch like hell, what do you have to lose? Nothing. But you DO have something to gain!

I'd be swearing, and waving my arms, scaring away the customers that are in the shop at the time.....but hey, thats just me.

thats what i thought they should know what rims dont fit certain vehicles. i had to tell them the year of my truck to get bolt pattern so they knew what it was going on.
the thing is i got them through my friend who works at a tireshop and got me a real good deal and pulled soem strings to get the deal.

You will have to machine the fins on the drum to fit that much backspace. I found that i can get as much as 6 1/2" bs on a steel wheel without drum interference, but not on the stock drum,I replaced the drums....69 longhorn.
