How can I graft a pontiac BB into 63 CHEVY C10
I have a 63 chevy c10 that I have been restoring for almost two years, and now I am ready to try to mont the engine to the frame. I chose a pontiac 400, but am running into the problem of how to get it to fit. I have been told a few different things, but no major breakthroughs yet. I was hoping someone may have the answer.

You might have to fabricate your own engine towers for the motor mounts to bolt up to. It can be done, you can put anything in these trucks (even HEMI's)

When i first got the one ton, it had a Pontiac 350 in it with poor compression and lots of leaks. (I threw it away as soon as I could)
They used the motor towers from a 73 - 87 pick up, it is very much like the 72 big blovk towers...but way cheaper. The Pontiac engine bolted right up to it for the best part. They did use a spacer on the drivers side between the mount and the tower...actuallu they used lugnuts as spacers...but we'll just call it spacers. After that, just run the fuel line on the other side of the frame, locate your cross member for the TH400 that you are probably using, and call it good. |

Where there's the will and desire, there's a way. Especially in these old pickups. There's all kinds of room. Think of the engineering it takes to put some engines in the '30's cars.
