We had to pay a little more, but still way under what the going rate these cars are selling for and the guy had done quite a bit of maintenance work on it, so it wasnt bad still. Couldnt let the car slip away as we know its a super good car. Only reason they sold it was to finish the 56 Chevy custom we still have.

Well fast forward to today, we lost my grandmother a year ago and my grandpa was wanting to get the 61 back, was able to get in touch with the guy they sold it to a decade ago and he actually still had it and was ready to let the car go. So we sold some spare stuff, pooled our money together and got the car back. Needs a little TLC as the car has pretty much sat in the garage the last decade, but nothing crazy.
Wow. Pics of interior and bay?

Ill get them later, I've been prepping my truck for Goodguys this weekend so I have not gotten to do any cleaning yet on it and it needs it badly from sitting for most of the last decade. It is a 348 tri power, 4 speed car. Only thing not stock under the hood is the little chrome louvered air cleaners on the carbs and the aftermarket booster and dual master cylinder for the disc brakes. Pretty much looks exactly like this pic of the 61 my grandpa ordered new. He took the big stock air cleaner and chucked it of course. Interior is all stock and original. I am pretty confident the car is a legit Super Sport car as it has everything they came with, in the right spots, and the dash never got the cross flags on the passenger side that the non super sport cars got. Also built in the right time frame and is a true big block 4 speed car.

Tri-Power 348 with a 4 speed makes it that much better!

Most of the time it is because the picture is to big.

If you Crop the picture to remove the outer edges it may work then.

Hope this helps.

I size all of my pictures down to 1150 pixels wide. The board software should take care of it from there....

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Passenger knuckle done on the Tacoma what a pain this is an 03 . The 05 and up the bearing and hub are sold as one unit and installs with four bouts no press needed . Mine everything is separate and needs to be pressed . Even with all new parts it’s a job getting it together . At least I started the truck to check that the new pan had no leaks and it passed . So now I get to put the front differential back in and build up the drivers side knuckle. Second pic is the bare left side knuckle

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Installed minus the lower ball joint bolts . This way I can move it to put in the axle . On to the drivers side in the mean time I’m going to install the differential since the pan doesn’t leak .

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Day 2 of scrubbing up the 5th wheel camper. I put 4 new tires on it back in 2020 and we haven't taken it out since. The wife says she will quit working next month so then she'll have no excuses. Sitting out doors the tree pollen and crap has really gotten a hold on it. So I bought a nice pressure washer thinking that might be a better option than hand scrubbing it all over. Well it helped. I still ended up running a brush over it and hand scrubbing some too. It's bright white again but my arse is dragging big time. We're either going to use it or sell it.
Whoever coined the phrase "don't let the old man in" I believe was talking about staying fit and active as long as you can. Believe him.

Yeah. Well they're clean!
I remember when I put them on, I was getting it ready to use when I noticed the tread on the previous tires was splitting and wires were showing through. It wouldn't have made it around the block.

His Momma and Daddy set him up right.

He also does driveways and other stuff.

Just about a Month ago I suggested a ladder rack for his enclosed trailer and a Tall ladder.

And Expand his business to wash Rv's for People that only move them once in a While
It was Approved.

This is the first time we have ever gone. My Son in Law works for Pepsi and gets free tickets to a lot of events that they sponsor. Quite an experience is all I can say.

My brother just 2 weeks ago took his 5th wheel to Pismo with the grandkids and blew a trailer tire on the way down taking out a lower panel and some wiring. He jerry rigged the wiring at the RV park and picked up a new spare for the uneventful trip home, the tires were about 3 years old.

They do not call them "China Bombs" for no reason.

About 10 years ago we took a trip as far east as the Dakotas as neither of us had been to Mt Rushmore. We put brand new tires on at the start of the trip, and on the way home just as we crossed back into Kalifornia we blew a tire and took out the side of our 5th wheel.

You never know about trailer tires.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

They are expensive but they are made in America . Goodyear Endurance tires have them on my flat car trailer

Trailer tires fail from under inflation overload or road hazard. Pick up a nail and you really don’t feel anything till the tire fails . Even the best tires will fail in that scenario.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Yep, a slow leak from an undetected puncture will kill a tire from heat. Best preventative is to USE a pressure gauge and manually check them every time you stop for gas. Next best is just putting the palm of your hand on each tire will give you a heads up if one is running hotter than the rest. If they all feel too hot, and have a faint odor of hot rubber.....find a gauge and check pressures.
And only read the sidewall of the tire to know what it requires for pressure. Many C and D range tires now require 50-55 lbs to carry the load they are rated for. I have D range tires on my single axle camper rated for 2,200 lbs at 50 PSI. That gives me a safety range of over 800 lbs for the 3,500# trailer.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Got the passenger side just about done . The front differential was a little more work to get in than I had thought it would be but after a couple of attempts and lots of colorful words I managed to get it .

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Had to buy a new shop press . Attempting to take apart the old left side hub to get the ABS ring and bearing spacer and the 12 ton wasn’t up to it . The press bar bent . So I bought a 20 ton and it was a breeze .
