frame situation
I just installed a 97 camaro lt1 in my shortbed 4x4 today. I ran into a problem and had to cut the top of the frame 8 inches to clear the a/c compressor. I was wondering if anyone would know a good way to reinforce the frame so I dont run into any problems?
Thanks Sevans |

I am about to do the same thing to a 69. Was there any way you could have raised the engine to clear the frame?

I wish I had run the corvette accessory setup. The a/c unit sits up on top on the drivers side. The only draw back is it gets expensive to buy all the accessories. Walk into a wrecking yard and mention you need corvette parts and the price seems to go up. I think I am going to box my frame and will let you know how this works and looks.

You could use the '71 and older big block towers, that'd raise the engine a little.
Since you cut in front of the engine cradle, i highly doubt you will ever have a problem. |
