My nephew bought a set of these.

I told him when I seen them that that was not a very good choice.

Months later he hit something in the road and put a huge dent in the rim.

He admitted that he learned a valuable lesson on that purchase.

Ha. A few years ago I saw a truck go by with a set of large hoops (may have been 20s ) with some rubber band tires on it and I told my daughter they're ok for a show car but not practical for a daily driver. One good pot hole or curb strike and they'd be ruined. Less than a week later I saw that same truck at the tire shop with a heavily bent rim and a flat. I kid you not. But what does Dad know, right?
Some years later she bought herself a jacked up bright red Avalanche with huge hoops and gripper tires on it that stuck WAY out from the fenders. She did not consult me on the purchase, knowing what I thought, and owned that pile near long enough to pay for it then traded it for a Ram with normal sized wheels.
