who's watching????????????
Ebay #1836286170.....1972 C10, 327/3sp should be an 8k truck if original! I would bid, if I KNEW it was original. OK, no air. OK, no 4 sp auto, but was that roof line specific to the lighting option? I'm on untill the end of auction. Dave

If I decoded the VIN correctly, that truck isn't a 72, it's a 71.
327's weren't available in 71 or 72 were they? Here's the link..... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1836286170

First off...I didnt think 327's were available in '72 either???
Second...I would be very careful on that one......if you notice, the seller is a Coin and Collectables dealer....then go look at the bid history. the guy bidding against roneron is a coin collector (gagman99 - check his feedback and previous buys)....sounds like a buddy to the seller is trying to run the bids up....but then again I am a conspiracy theorist at times too. Check it out and tell me what you think. Last edited by Shane; 06-18-2002 at 06:56 PM. |

I went to see a 69 Custom camper w/ a 327. Chiton only lists a 327 in the C50 series truck, and I guess it was an option. Chilton also show motors available in 71 that were not avail in 72 pg 836.32 ed.

68 was the last year for the 327,it was replaced by the 350 from that point, you might have been able to option it in a 69',same with the 283 im pretty sure in 69' it went to the 307 (283 with a 327 small journal crank)

Something is really fishy about this feedback. As mentioned, RLBCOINS and GAGMAN99 are in kahoots.
http://cgi2.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-c...serid=gagman99 It's a pretty nice truck but I'd be very weary. 68 was the last year of the 327. I guess it's a 350 sitting in there. Those wheels are not stock (But they look nice!) On the plus side I can see the "Disk Brakes" emblem on the tailgate. (Wasn't that a 71 thing only?) It looks like stock paint to me.

As far as I know '69 was the last year that the 327 was made for any model type chevy.

I emailed the one who was bidding on it (roneron) and told him what I (we) thought was going on with the bidding.....he agreed. I don't know if he is going to continue to bid or not. That kinda stuff just isn't right.
Anyhow, I told him about the board.....maybe he'll stop in and check it out.

Anyone that uses ebay should immediately go to ebay forums and post about this shill bidding. If a few of us do it, that will get the ebay slueths on it, and they will do it, 'cause there's a bunch of them that love to catch guys like that and expose them, banish them, etc. Ebay does frown on this type of activity, and they will do something about it if enough people bring it to their attention. They're trying to screw one of our brothers, so let's screw them!

The rear view mirror is mounted on the cab not the window by the looks of it. Wouldnt that be another clue that it might be a 71?
But about the shilling, do you think that they would leave feedback for each other if they were into something like that. But yah from buying coins to buying a truck from the same guy, fishy Last edited by Gee_Emm; 06-18-2002 at 11:12 PM. |

Look at how many things the high bidder (Gagman99) has bought from this guy before. If you look at the sellers other auctions there is a high bidder (Gagman01) for that vehicle also. Not to mention the fact that there are 39 bids for the 72 and 24 bids for a $1000 Jeep. Something isn't right here. I smell a rat! What an a$$hole. That's all!

gagman99 and gagman01 have delt with each other before. If you look at 99's feedback on the forth page you will see where 01 won a bid.
The seller of this truck has also purchased from 01. Lots of repeat buyers on all sides. I sent ebay a message about all of it.

I just posted on ebay Trust & Safety forum about this, so any of you want to add to it, get right after it. I use ebay a lot, and I hate this kind of s**t! Screw 'em, let 'em get what they deserve!

Here is part of the email that ebay sent to me......
"Thank you for taking the time to write to eBays Safe Harbor department. Shill bidding is a serious offense and we will investigate your report as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours. We will investigate the accounts for possible shill bidding by looking at the information you have provided as well as our internal records. We will also compare this to bidding patterns and any other activity that may have occurred involving the reported accounts. If we are able to find evidence of shill bidding, our actions can range from issuing an educational alert, a temporary suspension, or in some cases an indefinite suspension. The type of action that we take depends on the specific situation surrounding an individual account. Things such as the existence of a previous warning, the nature of the offense and the length of time as a community member will all be taken into consideration. Repeated violations of policies will often result in the suspension of a member's account. Sometimes, what appears to be shill bidding may actually be a legitimate bidding activity. This can occur for a number of reasons, for example, a bidder may bid almost exclusively on one or two sellers whom they have come to trust. If we find there is not enough evidence of shill bidding, we may not take action against any of the reported accounts. We assure you that we will thoroughly examine your report. Please keep in mind that due to our privacy policy you will not receive specific details of our actions. In certain circumstances, we may contact you by email if we need further information. We pledge, though, that an eBay Safe Harbor representative will quickly review your report of shill bidding and apply our guidelines fairly........"
