71 grille on 68?
Hi Guys,
I was considering fitting a 71 type grille and surround on my 68. What do I need to do this swap apart from the surround and grille insert? I'm not worried about the bumper but am unsure about the hood and anything else that need to be purchased. Thanks, Mark. |

68 to 71
You'll need the 71 fenders & hood also. "67 & '68 fenders & hoods are different than '69-'72.

WOW, I REMEMBER THAT TRUCK, HAD IT SHIPPED FROM CALI.  IMO, THE 67-68 SLOPED HOOD LOOKS ALOT BETTER THAN 69-72.  P.S. - THAT IS 1 SWEET RIG, ONLY ISSUE I C IS NOT ENOUGH PIC'S.

Well, I was gonna offer a trade, but the shipping would be a killer. Personally, I like the 67-68 front end much better, but that is a preference. The 69-70 grille is hard to modify and the 71-72 grille is frequently used in the 69-70's.
Trenz makes an insert for the 67-68's that is clean. It has thin billet bars that fits within the two openings. Nice, clean truck.
