Flywheel help

hey i just bought my first 67-72 truck and it made a weird noise when starting and shuting down i though it was the starter not kicking all the way out or needing shimming well i crawled under there yesterday and the flywheel moves back and forth (left and right) I tightened up the flywheel to converter bolts all I could but it still moves Please help me Thanks

you can try and get in between the converter and the flywheel and try tightening the bolts that hold the flywheel to the crankshaft, you'll have to unbolt the converter and possibally slide the tranny back an inch or 2 to get to them

ok thanks I gotta get it into the garage first then i'm going to end up droping the tranny and send it out to be rebuilt or repaceing it so 'll try that then thanks again

if you're going to have the tranny out and you have any doubts at all about your flywheel they're CHEAP around $30 or less at a local parts store
