What color orange?
While on my hunt to buy as many 67-72 GM trucks as possible in my province of Saskatchewan, I found a rusty but complete 71 or 72 Chev deluxe model that was a really nice shade of orange and white, and it looked like it had not seen paint in many years. Can anyone tell me what color orange this would be? It was lighter than hugger orange. The truck had mirrir mounted on cab, not windshield, so I assume it is a 71, but it also has deluxe molded door panels like a 72. Truck was locked so I could not check glovebox. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks all.

I think you're referring to the color they used to call Omaha Orange in the '50s. I have a 1968 stepside and the glovebox just calls it 516 Orange.
Later the marketing boys got creative and some years they called that shade "Tangerine" and even "Sunbolt." It's my favorite Chevy truck color. I saw a late model Silverado in traffic today and it had that color, so it must be back in production.
