Can I put a 68 cab on my 71? What is different?

What is different on a 68 cab? The only thing I can think of is the parking brake. Aren't they hand brakes on 68 and foot on 71? Is that a bolt in piece or a weld in piece? Can I easily convert the 68 cab to the 71?
Thanks!
Shawn

I think you will have throttle linkage issues to deal with. The 68 uses a rod and the 71 a cable. If you get the 68 rod and pedal set up with the cab you should be fine. The firewalls are different because of this. If you want to use the one cab as a firewall donor for patch pieces and graft them in you can use the correct throttle and e-brake for the year of your truck. I believe the fuse box is in a slightly different location but is probably still compatable.

Gas tanks different too because of the charcoal canister under hood on 71. Theres a vent tube in the cab I believe also on the 71 for that canister.

Rod is right, and another minor difference, the 71 has a raised mounting point on the cab ceiling for the mirror to mount to, while 67 - 70, & 72 do not have this raised mounting point.
