Disc swap questions.

Swapping my 70 4x4 drum front to a disc setup. First Q is the date code on the ring gear appears to be 75 and the "main cap" inside also appears to be 75. Is there any other way to be sure of year? or is it not important.. Is there any tips or tricks to doing this swap? Any special parts i will need, or should i just buy parts for a 75 front end? Both fronts are 1/2 ton dana 44s. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Eric

If the front differential is a 75, it should work very well. The axles are greatly improved over the older ones and the backing plates are much better. I cannot think of any difficulties that you will run into.

Thanks for the encouraging words jim. New question... what brake hoses should i get for this? Would the 71-72 hoses be the easiest? Also, do i have to change my prop valve? My truck already has power drums. If so, will a 71-72 2 wheel drive prop valve work? Thanks for any input.

TTT. Also, would it be easier to just take MC and booster from a 72 2wd to use on my 4x4? Any opinions are good...
