aftermarket core support
who has used one of these and was it a quality piece. I need one for my 71 street strip truck. do the leaky batteries of old kill them all?

I too am interested in the quality of this part, as I need one soon. If the thickness is similar to GM I would consider repro, if not I guess its time to hunt for a good used one. Anyone out there used one of these?

I used the Goodmark core support and worked very well.

Goodmark
I bought a Goodmark for my 69 - best quality I saw and very competively priced. But see it you can get a dealer near you to get it with shipping cost reduced - that's what I did, and actually paid less than the MSRP Goodmark has for the thing

I got one from one of the vendors here, Kingparts. It wasn't Goodmark, probably Taiwan but I was very pleased with the quality and had no troubles installing it. The price was nice at $141 delivered.
Leaky batteries will kill anything so best off not to have one in the first place.

When I purchased my goodmark, I wasn't in a hurry.
Simply had the local dealer bring it in with his regular order and the shipping didn't cost me anything.

I know this should be in the parts section, but seeing how a couple people are looking, I have a nice original GM one thats been sandblasted, primed and painted black. (69-72 non AC) Would like $110.00 for it plus shipping.
