I've done that before but as I recall you need the adapter wedge that is used with the A/C controls for a truck or have to fab one up which is pretty easy. One of the levers works opposite to a regular truck unit and needs a little creative linkage work to make it function.

Question

ADAPTER WEDGES???????? I DIDN'T USE ANY, OR FOR THAT MATTER, EVER SEEN ANY. ONE OF THE LEVERS DOES WORK BACKWORDS, NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT, BUT I JUST INSTALLED IT, AS IS, WITHOUT ANY MODIFICATIONS. IT DIDN'T SEEM TO BE A PROBLEM FOR ME.

Hey I have a catalog from Impala Bobs, and on page 45 they have a rebuild kit for the AC temperature controls. They also sell lots of used parts ( from sheet metal to interior parts) if you e-mail a request to them they will be glad to help you. Here's the link:www.impalas.com. And thanks for the tip John.

The adapter wedge bolts to the stock heater control holes on the bottom of the dash and then the control bolts to it. I suspect the truck a/c control is really a 65 Impala a/c control or a variation of it . If you have a chance to look at a factory truck a/c control you will know what I mean. Anybody into Impala's know the answer about the truck a/c control?

STINGRAY WHACK (SLAPS FOREHEAD WITH PALM OF HAND) NOW I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN BY ADAPTER WEDGE. WHAT YOU SAY MAKES PERFECT SENSE TO ME NOW (DUH!!) I'LL HAVE TO MAKE SURE I BOLT ONE ON THAT ONE I HAVE ON EBAY B-4 I SHIP IT. THANK YOU. G.M. WAS REALLY GOOD ABOUT USING EXISTING PARTS ON OTHER VEHICALS BACK WHEN THEY CHANGED EM EVERY MODEL YEAR, SO I'LL BET YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT THESE HEATER CONTROLS FOR TRUCKS ORIGINATING IN IMPALAS. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT. JOHN
