Does horniac mean.....

Longhorn with a Pontiac
OR
longhorn with a Caddilac
I have a chance to get a Caddy 425 DIRT cheap. I'm thinkin bout doing it. I could slap it in there and hook it up to the Pontiac TH350 that is in there already. Then when I sel the GMC, I can gouge the piss outa someone.
I really want a Caddy 500...but h*ll, it's still caddy big block.
being that this is more of a club's truck than Andy's truck, what's y'all's opinion?
I know Rabid is easy to please...all I gotta do is keep some chainge in the ash tray.
This is something I am really thinkin bout. Then i can sell the Ponticrap 350, and also ditch the Chevy 400 I have in storage. Hmmmm, with the $$ from those two, i could even locate a TH 400, or beef up the TH350 to hold up anyways....
I NEED OPINIONS.

Caddys are very tough engines and fun to drive in a truck

Then you could put a Caddy hood ornament on the hood of the "Cadahorn".

I vote for the Caddy. Hotrod magazine did an article a while back on the 425, that's a bad little motor. I wouldn't mind putting one in my truck!

50 bucks cheap? With a gurantee to no smoke/no knock?
All he is keeping is the carb, and the power steering pump. That's it. Everything else comes with it, right down to the plug wires and the full oil pan.
All the yards around here are catching on to the Caddy thing, the only 500 I have seen for the past year in a yard locally, the guy said he can't keep them in stock, so he wanted 700 for the long block...it was gone in 3 days.
I'll be digging through all my mags with caddy info in them tonight...getting all the referance I can.

That's pretty cheap. I gave 250 for my 500 complete and running.
Check out maximum torque specialties. They have everything you need to make a screamer out of that cad motor.
500cid.com
I have thier tech guide, let me know if there are questions from there I can answer.

BTW if anybody is looking for another 425 I have one available. Complete minus carb and starter.

I bought a 73 eldo for the motor. I hope the back seat is in good shape and will be able to go into my truck. White leather with caddy emblems sounds pretty trick.

White leather would look good in your truck. i like the stock lok myself, but would have a hard time passing up a black leather with 6 way power.
I'm liking the way this is going. Being the way that I aquired this truck, I wanted everyone's opinion on the matter.
brennecke, do you have any links I could look at? The ones posted in your thread are the only ones I know of, and I have not had a chance to try and look up anything on-line as of yet.
I gues the name will chainge...69longhorn told me honilac sounds about right.
I like.
