Wanted: Big Block power steering reservior bracket
Does anyone have a spare Big Block power steering reservoir bracket like the one in this pic?
It projects the small reservoir off of the driver side fender when you had the 396-402 big block with power steering and auxiliary battery box. All I need is the bracket only, Thanks |

I think that I saw them listed in Danchuck's Catalog. I'll dig out my copy this evening and see if I can get you a part number. I know I have seen that part listed and it seems like it was used for el caminos and chevelles.

I think I have an original (should have anyway..bolted the ps unit to fender without bracket)...have a 72 Cheyenne that somone was going to restore, had the 402 and 400 trans rebuilt, bought the whole truck for the motor and trans to put in my 79 GMC; have the rest listed for sale as a whole, if no takers by this weekend will start parting it out. Only problem is I have all the parts disassembled, in boxes, etc so I don't know what the thing looks like in it's entirety...will find everything close and send pic of this weekend if you don't have one by then. Someone told me these misc OE brackets are like gold, so I don't know what it's worth, willing to be fair and give a competitive price, let me know what your thoughts are. bob

Reservoir bracket
I think, but I'm not sure, that your truck will have had to have these options:
396-402 Big Block, power steering & auxillary battery box. If you have this bracket I am ready to deal. Please let me know. |

I have a bracket like that. I dont want to sell it, but will take a picture of it if that will help. I`m pretty sure that it only came on 68 bigblock trucks.

Bracket
I'm pretty sure southernparts is right, because there is an original 68 truck on ebay right now with one. Item 3 is 2496393158.
