I've been thinking about getting headers now for a while. What difference would it make it the exhuast sound with performance mufflers?

youll pick up a good 20hp from switching from a single pip in some applications,headers and a nice set of mufflers sound killer,you can hear each cylender fire,were as with the stock manifolds it was kinda muffled,I'd go with a set of crematic coated ones ,they'll last close to forever and they shine

I've got a set of ceramic coated full length headmans running through 3" dual exhaust and 40 series flowmasters. I can't wait to get my heads so I can hear this rumble. Theres also some negatives with headers. Keeping gaskets in them is a big problem. Theres more heat that comes off headers also. You can have a problem with burning up your plug wires also. These aren't terrible problems, but should be kept in mine when thinking abo ut headers.

When i made the switch from ramshorns to headers, it made my
truck sound about twice as good, and alot louder

back when i had 2" duals and short glasspacks though. When
i added a set of flowmasters, it made it sound even better. You
may want to get some header bolts with the allen wrench heads on
them, they are alot easier to torque down then the regular kind with
3/8" hex heads on them. I have a combination on hex and allen bolts
on mine, i put them where each one was easier to get at. I wouldn't
use the cheap gaskets that come with the headers, you will proably
have to replace them pretty soon. I use Fel-Pro gaskets on my headers,
and i haven't had to touch them in over a year. The "dead soft" gaskets
are sopposed to be good, but they are fairly pricey. Good luck

Headers are a MUST on any truck.....like everybody says... headers+torq+power=
