By the VIN or look on the driver's door for the blue sticker mfg date. The grilles are different too. H.

The top pic (the 69) has 71-72 headlight bezels. I believe all the 69-70s were black. The inner grille on the 70 has faint lines in it.

69 has a black or silver rectangular inner grille where a 70 has 12 sets of small horizontal fins

Aren't the interior door panels different? I think the wood strip started in '70.

yes in 69 the door panels (if you had a deluxe interior) would be all vinyl, the 70 door panels did have the wood aplique in 70

As far as i know, the '70 inner grills are not reproduced. That's why I used a 70 on mine. Plus, I think the 70's are nicer looking.

On mine, I wanted to blacken the whole inner grill that's why it's not really noticable. Here's a little bit better pic of the inner grill from mine.

The '70 inner grill has 6 groupings of horizontal bars that are painted silver and separated with a small black indentation where the arrow points.

The '69 has a honey comb appearance where all the horizontal and vertical sections are silver.

The bottom image from Solver's post shows a nice pic of the 70 grill - I have yet to see this one reproduced.
