Shot the bed this past weekend. Doors and fenders to be done this weekend followed by the rest the following weekend, hopefully.

Thanks for the compliments.

It's a BASF custom mixed color my painter and I cooked up. You can't tell in the picture too well but it's a pearl paint.

Looks great...
have fun trying to match it though. or is it not that bad? I thought pearls..especially colors like that were a pain to match if you didn't spray it with the exact same conditions.

is that a repo bed or stock? looks like it was in pretty good shape

Bought plenty of paint to start with so no lot variation this time around. I've seen my painter match and shoot tri-stage paint on foreign exotic collision jobs and candies on show cars so this is a walk in the park for him. If I had to do it, the best I could do is finger paint with water colors.
It's a stock '67 Texas bed that had zero rust, just a few dings and dents here and there that were all removed. Welded in the side marker light holes from a '72 and a remote fuel door from a 1990 Mazda 626 that doesn't show up well in the driver side picture.

Looks great. What are you going to do on the inside of the box? Spray in liner?

Yes, spray-in liner. Still trying to decide which brand.

nice work, i like the color as well! i really recommend LineX for the spray liners, mine has taken a beating, including a gallon of gas spilled in it a few days after it was sprayed, didn't leave a mark
