I posted this offering at 9:04; had a PM that was timed at 9:13 and then a reply to the posting entered at 9:24. The person sending me the PM did not reply on the site but directly to me. I think I did the right thing by giving the earlier PM priority over the 9:24 post. To avoid future confusion and to prevent someone from thinking that I am being underhanded the only thing to do is take only publically displayed response in order of posting. sorry for any confusion, I am definitely not trying to make anyone mad

"the only thing to do is take only publically displayed response in order of posting."
I agree. It avoids confusion, and people thinking that they got shafted. Also, I've lost sales from other potential buyers by waiting for responses from the first to reply wanting more pictures, more info, or just not responding period. It's a touchy subject for sure. We should really come up with some parts board edicut rules and post a sticky at the top of the page. At least then we would all have the same general guidelines to go by. For instance: First to publically respond "I will take it", or "I will take it if..." gets it; If there is response in 24 hours from the first person to reply, the next person gets it.
