Door(s) problem
Doors are off. Can't get the hinge pins out. Did a search. Didn't quite understand this suggestion -
"Cut the hing at the joints with a hack saw." Tried a big hammer from underneath, heating with a small propane torch - even cut the top off of one and tried pounding it out from the top. I could take the hing off the body, but isn't there a plate behind them that could fall off? That scares me a little. Any help would be appreciated. I can't paint the jams until I get the pins and bushings replaced. Many thanks |

I torched mine and that got a couple out. Then the other 2 I put on some WD40, some oil, and some other penetrating oils and lubricants and finally between them all got them out. Be sure if you get replacement pins to cut them to the same length as the old ones. Usually they don't come cut to the right size.

The plates that hold the nuts behind the post are attached so they can move but cannot drop. You should have any problesm. I was lucky, after removing the hinges I could easily hammer the pins out. (Probably because they were so worn.) The new pins made a tremendous difference, doors are now nice and tight.
