Cool and rare piece there. I guess it's gotta be worth something to somebody.
I think that he's gonna have to come down in price a bit though if he wants to get any bites.

I don't believe that is the correct 8 track for the trucks. I *think* they had "GM" on the door, not the bowtie. But of course, I could be mistaken.

He may get a opening bid. Here a link to a used one that was just on ebay and it is made about the same. It had the bowtie and sold for 228.50.

It is not correct the factory one does have Gm on the face not the bowtie, this is a car 8 track, so was the other on E-bay a few days ago. there was one on here that was abs. correct for the truck. Cars= rare, Trucks = super rare. H.

I was watching that auction and actually thought about bidding on it. Then I noticed the seller has 33 negative feedbacks. Imo, if his feedback rating was better and he accepted paypal, it would have fetched a better price.

There is a seller on e-bay that goes by the username jumpincactusjacks that sells some pretty good 8-tracks. I have seen some in their original packaging. He sells mostly rock and southern rock.

I wonder if he'll throw in a matchbook to stick under the corner of the tape when it stops turning

Actually both may be correct. The one that had "GM" on the door was definately a truck only player. The one with the bowtie was used in trucks and cars. Jerry Brown at the truck shop personally witnessed this back in 72. He bought a new 72 and ordered the 8 track with it. A buddy of his liked his truck so much when it came in, that he also ordered a new 72 (with the 8 track). the 8 tracks were dealer installed options and not listed on the glovebox. One truck came with the "GM" and one came with a "bowtie". Maybe the dealers used the car players when they didn't have a truck only unit on the shelf. It was GM, who knows what or why they did some of those things they did. My .02
