tire size?
if i put a taller tire on my truck will the speedometer read faster or slower than i am really moving?

It'll read slower than your actual speed. Think of it this way - at a given rpm (and indicated speed), your tire will be rotating a certain number of times per mile travelled. Each tire rotation will push the truck forward a certain distance.
With a taller tire and at the same rpm, you will have the same number of tire rotations, but each rotation will push the truck a bit farther, since its circumference is greater. Since you will go farther in an equal amount of time, you are going faster than your indicated speed. I hope this makes sense. It was important to know back in the Sixties when I was putting taller tires on the musclecars - to keep the speeding tickets to a minimum!

you can buy a gear for your speedo to correct it. i've seen it somewhere.
