grill bar

I bought this grill bar from someone on ebay, but I think something is wrong. The bar I bought is on the truck in the pics, my old one is the other pic. Well, the old one has the flange at each end and the new one doesn't. Did I get screwed or is this bar not suppose to have the flanges at each end?

My 72 don't have the flanges on the upper grill bar ends. I wonder if those are to keep the eyebrows in alignment with the bar. Maybe this is a pre 71-72 thing.

They fit under the eyebrows on my 70. This new grill bar came from a 71.
