What is a BIG BLOCK HEAT SHIELD?
I saw an auction for one of these on eBay a few weeks ago and I was wondering what it actually is. Where does it go and why is it needed? Here's a picture.Big Block Heat Shield

Looks like the shield to keep the heat off the passengers feet.

Here is how close the passenger side exhaust is to the floor. Yep it's needed.

Lots of people who build BB trucks don't know about these and it is a sure way to tell if a truck is a built truck or an original (or at least a very good clone). It is one of those details that is often over looked.

Huh!
I am in the "two-year" process of building a BB truck so I just as well try and get one. Does anyone have one they are willing to part with? The 396 is coming along well. All I need to do is drop in the distributor and fill the radiator with antifreeze. But my job and graduate school leave no time for fun.
