weird....

Here's one for ya....Putting the 350 back in the 69, )motor mounts are different between 65 and 69, so it seems). I take 'em off the 305, put 'em on the 350, no luck. Nothing's lining up. Fought with it for...oh, about four hours. Started measuring stuff, decided on a whim to switch the motor mounts around. Well, that was it. What's the story on this? I don't REMEMBER the mounts being in a severe bind when I pulled the 305, but they sure as hell were on backward from the 350. I remember looking at the 305 sitting on the stand, and thinking "there's no way those mounts lined up with the frame". No extra holes drilled, no nothing. Was this magic, or am I just lucky my engine and transmission didn't shift colors one afternoon and take off without me?

the motor mounts fit now. Somehow, whichever set of prior owners crammed the 305 in there, they put the left motor mount on the right, and the right motor mount on the left. THe rubber is pretty well ruined now from sitting the wrong way for so long, I just have NO idea how they managed to pull it off.

Everything fits now, it just took some reworking.
