bow tie seat belts

Found some seat belts in a 67 and they have only a little chevy bow tie on the buckle no button they lift from one side to release. Are the bow tie seat belts 67 only? has anyone had any luck refurbishing them? Any tips? My chrome on the buckles are good but the paint on the bowtie part is real bad, belts are in great shape i think i will die them to get them looking really good. The boots that cover the bolts are pretty good too just gonna clean em up. can you buy repops with the bowtie?

Seat Belts

Kevin - Those are what I call Type 1 belts. I believe they used those before 68. Maybe a running change in 67? The male end has a sideways slot in the end rather than a lengthwise slot in the later Type 2 belts.

I don't know when seatbelts were introduced in the trucks or if they were optional to begin with. I know that my 67 from the Fremont Plant had the pushbutton release type when I purchased it. I don't think I have seen a 68 with the Type 1 belts. Almost all the early ones I see are "fawn" colored.

Seat Belts

Kevin - I have seen red and I have seen blue. But mostly I see FAWN.
They probably had other colors but those are the ones I've seen.
