New Steering Box From Summit In Reno

I was at Summits retail store in Reno today and picked up a new AGR power steering pump ( see link for AGR website ) http://www.agrperformance.com/

I am thinking about going back up tomorrow and getting the AGR steering box to go along with it. Has anyone installed/used one of these? They are available with different ratios. I'll be installing it on my 67 short fleet. It has a 3 / 4 drop, all of the ball joints, tierod ends, pitman arm, idler arm and nitro drop shocks are new. Any opinions on a faster ratio steering box would be appreciated.

Also, for you Northern Nevada guys: Summit is remodeling their retail store and selling some of the display items at some great deals. A guy in front of me got a set of new Holley SBC aluminum heads for $250.00....I doubt this stuff will stay on the shelves long. I wish I would have gotten there 10 minutes sooner.

HAVE ONE ON "GQ" (THEY ARE NOT CHEAP) UNSURE ON THE RATIO
IT WAS INSTALLED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER, IT IS BAD A$$

You say it's bad a$$..Have you driven it much to see how bad a$$ it performs or are you going by the looks, price or both?
Summit gets $370 for the box I want. I did'nt think that was too bad.

I'VE DRIVEN IT A FEW TIMES, I KNOW THE PO CALLED THEM AND GAVE THEM
HIS APPLICATION SO THEY WOULD RECCOMEND THE PROPER RATIO FOR THE
BLAZER, I THINK HE PAID MORE THAN THAT, BUT IT'S BEEN A YEAR OR TWO
SINCE THEN AND ALL THINGS SEEM TO START OFF HIGH, THE FEW TIMES I
HAVE DRIVEN IT, IT HANDLED BETTER THAN MY OLD 96 IMPALA SS, I WAS

I have only heard two bad things about AGR: Expensive prices and poor customer service since they got bought out by some corporate biggie. If you never have a problem with the box, you've likely got a great deal.

Were I to recommend a top notch steering box modifier/remanufacturer, I would consider Matt Hodges @West Texas Off Road. His site has some info DIYers can use to do their own steering upgrades. Otherwise, I'd suggest checking with Lee Manufacturing Co. or Howe Perf Power Steering. Howe is probably for just the 4x4 truck owners.

We have put agr boxes on 2wd trucks and with wide 8inch front tires they are very sensitive in traffic at speed and you need a steady hand on the wheel until you get acustomed to it. I have not put them in the catalog yet but the 2wd is 375.00 the 4wd is 425.00.
