Dropping a 72 burb?
Will drop spindles from a 73-87 work in a 72 burb or will I have to get 67-72 drop spindles? The burb is a 3/4 ton but I'm planning on putting a 1/2 ton axle in it so it will have 5-lug pattern on the back, what all will I need to convert the front to 1/2 ton 5-lug setup? I have complete front and rear suspensions from a 73, can I use those parts to convert it to 5-lug, the hubs, rotors, etc.? (i'll still buy some drop spindles of course)

For the front You can unbolt the complete crossmember and use the 73 crossmember. You only need to drill 2 holes.

Is that kit necessary to install my 73 rear? What does a kit like that cost, I couldn't find a price on the site...Are the axles from a 73 and 72 the same width?

The rear on a 73 has leaf springs. Most 67-72 are coil spring. So if You have coils You will need that kit or one like it.

Yeah, I knew that but I figured the 73 rear would attatch right up to the burb w/new u-bolts. Thanks for the info. I would be able to take the front suspension out of my 1/2 ton burb and put that under the new one w/no mods right? I mean I wouldn't have to drill holes in the crossmember or frame right?

Yes,it should bolt up.Some like the 73 up because of the rubber bushings. They say they ride better. If You keep the pre 73 bushings lubed there is not much of a difference, except they will last a long time.
