70cst, are those dynomax headers 2" primaries or 1 7/8? I'm looking for some 2" primary tube headers. thanks.

Thanks everyone,
I was going to use a stock 454 and stock exhaust manifolds. If I use stock exhaust manifolds can I use small block engine towers? I have a low hump cab, but I just bought a trans cover and was going to install it. I just installed new urethane cab mounts, but I'll probably put the high hump in anyway. Does any one know if I will need to shorten or lengthen my driveshaft? I would like to get it done on a weekend without having to make parts store runs, so if anyone has the dimensions for the driveshaft I'd appreciate it. I'm ready to pull some all-niters. Dano

It is my understanding that if you use SB mounts the stock maniflolds will hit the frame. This happened to a guy I knew a few years back but I dont know what position his motor was in. I used 72 BB mounts and a 350 trans and had to redrill for the rear motor mount and shorten my 1 pieace drivshaft. seems it move everthing back 1 inch, sorry cant remmember the total length somewhere ~57 inches I think
Just food for thought. Good Luck

Stock manifolds will not work with small block mount stands.
See the big block motor mount article I wrote in the FAQ for better pictures and details.

Is it true that I will need a different fuel sending unit (3/8" line).
Will an auto trans crossmember out of a 79 chevy truck work or will I need one from a 67-72? The 454 is in a 79 chevy truck. What can I use from this truck. Will I have to take out the manual trans crossmember under the bell housing in my '69? What about hooking up the th-400 selector rod to the frame, will my 69 have a place to do this? I guess I'll need an auto steering column with linkage. To save myself money, should I forget the th-400 and leave the three speed? Will the three speed be able to handle the 454? What else will I have to buy to make the swap? I already have a 4-core rad, but it's starting to look like more than an easy swap. Don't think I'll be able to get it done this weekend. Dano
