I have a 87 burban. All the lights quit working(headlights,taillights,turn signals)
I have checked the fuses,changed the switch,....anyone have any ideas...please email me at BIG87BURBAN@aol.com

Sounds like a fusible link to me. It must be near the main power source for the lights. What else isn't working? You may have a large short some where in the lighting circuit.
Try posting on the 73 to 91 Suburban board and see if they can help.

There is a fuseable like right off the back of the alt... And check the ones on the starter...

I agree on the fuseable link bit. Had that problem on my '91 Burb down at the starter.

does the fusable link look like and inline fuse?

On the starter there is a few wires, one or two of them will have what looks like a connector on them,from this connector to the terminal is the fusible link.. Take a test light on both sides of the connector ,if its hot on both sides its good,but if not its blown,Most likely , melted by the manifold or inside the metal tube bolted to the tranny on the back of the block,not very easy to get too..
