Differences between 5,6&8 lug rotors
This question might be very basic or even stupid. I see all these different upgrades or changes between 8,6 and 5 lug rotors. Now, my question is changing to lower # of lug rotors, doesn't decrease the stability/strength of the rotor? I mean, how do you decide how to go to 5 or 6 lug from 8 lug or even to to 5 from? Thanks.

Rotors
Here is the basics:
5 lug = 1/2T 2wd 6 lug = 1/2T 4wd 8 lug = 3/4T 2wd or 4wd I don't know about stability - my neighbor thinks I'm unstable. Hope this helps - Bob

Well, I meant, for example, if you have a 6 lug and switch it to 5 lug. Now you want to haul a heacy load or tow something. How this change afffect the truck? does it decrease it's dependability?

A 3/4 ton truck has 8 lugs for a reason---a 4x4 has 6 lugs for a reason as well. the more lugs, the stronger the attachement but it's all relative. Most guys will never tax the capability of the lugs/hubs unless they are dumb. If you haul a lot--you want a 3/4 ton truck. If your truck is for basic stuff, the 5 lug is fine. I have hauled, towed, etc. with a 1/2 ton for 20 years and never lost a wheel or lug due to weight or load. You do need to tighten them and check them once in a while --have lost a wheel or two due to loose nuts----but that's another story~~~hehehehe
