Engine year ?
When i bought my truck 3 years ago the guy i bought it from had put a new 350 motor in it a year earlier and he gave me the reciept for the 3 year warranty. The # on the reciept is 010067353--engine--LM1. When i am ordering parts for this engine do i use the year it was bought or just a 350 in a 71 chevy, don't want to get the wrong parts.

I just pick a car that that engine was available in, and tell them that.

The engine was purchased in January 1998. Just tell them it's a 98 model 350 and pick a vehicle like a 98 chevy with a 350

Part number 10067353 is the GM Goodwrench universal 350 pre 1985 applications. I have not seen one recently but don't they use the old style heads that the valve covers attach using 4 bolts on the outside edges rather than the later style that attach in the center of the valve cover. If so, the engine is basically the same one that would have come in your truck originally as far as most parts are concerned. What parts are you looking to get?

The big question is, is a a passenger side dipstick, and is it a one piece rear main seal?

JJR, yes the valve covers are held on by 4 bolts at each corner and LONGHORN the dip stick is on the driver side. Is there anything good or bad you guys can tell me about this engine. I'm not in need of any parts now, just going to tune it up and change oil. Thanks guys. Any info on this engine would be appriciated

From what I have heard they are a good engine. You will not win many races with it in stock configuration but it is a good base to build on. It uses all new components including the block. It is a four bolt main block and has I believe about 9:1 compression.

JJR is correct. That is the GM Goodwrench Crate engine. I just put one in my 72 LWB in January. It has a 2 piece rear seal and the dip stick can be mounted on either side, it comes with a 2 plugs of different diameters to plug off whichever side you don't use. You can go to Scoggin-Dickey's webside (sdpd2000.com) and get a spec sheet on the engine.

The folks at Scoggin-Dickey said engine parts for an 82 to 85 would interchange
