Hey I know some tachs say 6 and some say 8 cyl. But now that it's been sand blasted and repainted how do I tell which is which? Do it make a difference? Thanks.

It does make a difference, but I couldn't tell you how to tell, maybe look up the part number :dunno:

Hey does any one have the part number? If not I guess it would be safe to say it's a V8 tach Right? V6 is not very common right?

I would suggest hooking the tach up to an engine along with a reference tach, (a tach known to be accurate) and check it out. There is a calibration screw and you should be able to calibrate the tach to your reference regardless of whether it is a 6 or 8 cylinder tach.

and it has 6-cly stamped on the back. Can
these be recalibrated for an 8?

Yes it can, I have done it before. I use my Snap-On tach as a reference.
