Lokar Kickdown question 400 turbo

If anyone has a 400 kickdown with this lokar kickdown on it

Can you tell me what size the head is that goes into the plastic piece? I got one of these from a buddy and he lost the piece.

If I remember correctly, the 400 trans uses an electrical switch on the gas pedal for the kick down function.

That's not what he's talking about. That's the stock 72 kickdown switch. Earlier stock switches were mounted on the carburetor.

He's talking about the aftermarket lokar switch I outline in this post:

I can go out and look at mine in a few minutes...

You want to know what size the bolt head is that fits inside the plastic piece? I think that's what you mean...

I think that's a special bolt. Have you tried contacting lokar and seeing if you can get a replacement? At worst you'd have to buy a new setup, which runs from $70-90 retail.

It's too dark for me to run out and check. I'd have to check in the morning.

Brad, I ran one of those kits on my 70 truck. That little carburetor stud deal that the plastic clips onto is a pretty generic item. Local parts stores have the hot roddy section of their shelves and usually have a Holley brand one in a blister pack for sale.

I checked the local stores and struck out.I called Lokar the they are sending me one. Cost 4$ so not too bad.

Cool. Their crap is expensive, but cool, and they have good customer service. The hardest part about their stuff is getting it adapted to the old parts...

Im looking at the inside of the lokar kickdown now. I dont have the documentation for it. Looking inside it I see two spades. Which one gets the power? The one in the middle or the one on the top?

I got the the bolt needed to install the lokar kickdown. Going out there in 15 mins to get started on it. Will post back once it is done.

FYI. There's two holes in the frame channel that line up perfectly with the bracket for the switch box. That's where I mounted mine. I didn't want to drop any bolts out of the pan I just finished installing. The switch box fits perfectly inside the frame channel.

I took 2 bolts out of the pan and mounted it there. I didnt even think about the frame channel. If this thing works then I will more it there. GOing for the drive in a few mins. Will post back on what is goign on.

Ok good news and bad news.
Good: I got the lokar installed.
Bad: It didnt kick down but I think it needs to be adjusted some. Going to mess with that tomorrow night.
