Where to sell and how much???

I have two things that I really need to sell because I need the money back and I need the space. So, do you guys know of any places I would have better luck selling these other than here or the local news paper? Also how much do you think I should ask?

1. LWB truck bed. I don't know what year it is, but it has side marker lights. Comes with upper and lower trim (not attatched, I think one lower trim piece and a tailgaite piece are missing) that is in okay shape. It has a small (2"x2") rusted through spot behind the passenger side wheel well where the tailpipe exited. It could easily be patched with a small piece of sheet metal. There are three rust holes on the inside of the tailgate, but they are small enough that you could probably just patch them with a little welding and some filler metal. Other than that it is rust free and very straight. I bought it for $790 from a guy who ships them from down south. Keep in mind this is michigan and you will never find truck parts in this good of shape.

2. Small Block Chevy 355

-2 bolt main block bored .030" over
-new freeze plugs and cam bearings
-turned cast iron crank
-new rods
-new dished pistons
-new bearings, rings, and gaskets
*the entire rotating assembly was balanced
-new vortec heads
-Crane 1.5 ratio self aligning roller tip rockers
-.420" .443" lift Engle Cam with hydraulic lifters and
pushrods
-ceramic coated flotech headers (made for a 67-72
chevy truck but they may fit other applications)
-Edelbrock performer rpm airgap aluminum intake
manifold
-Edelbrock 750 cfm manual choke carb
-Pro-billet MSD distributer and MSD wires
-New spark plugs
-new timing gears and chain
-new high volume water pump
-new oil pan and oil pump
-chrome accessories (water neck, valve covers,
aircleaner, dipstick etc.)
-some pulleys and brackets (they have all been painted with high temp paint.
-flexplate (for auto tranny) flywheel and clutch
-2 starters

The engine has never been fired. Except for the block, crank, and the last three parts on the list EVERYTHING is brand new. I have at least $3000 into it.

any help is appreciated
thanks
brad

Any reason why you wouldn't try to sell 'em here?

I think he already has without any luck.

Brad, have you tried running classified ads in your local paper?

Yep, I have tried both here and local papers. I was wondering if there were other websites that might work better for selling these things??

parts

Brad, it's tough to sell stuff (at least when I have it). I tried all last summer to sell a 100% rust free 70 long bed for $800. It still had the original paint on it. I think I ended up at $650 for it because I was tired of all the tire kickers. Motors are tough. I used to build 12-15 a year for people (or some for myself just to re-sell). With the dropping prices of crate motors, I had a tough time. I always got "can I hear it run?" or "what's the warranty?". I'm guessing somewhere around $2000 for the motor. Used motor parts aren't worth near what they were new (once they leave the store, they're used). Just my opinion and good luck with the sale. Brian

You could try the Tradin' Times publication and the www.autotrader.com

How close are you to the Detroit area? There is a great local custom publicaiton www.cruisnews.com - they haved a classified section in both the magazine as well as the webpage.

Good Luck!
