VIN # Help For a 1971 truck I'm thinking of buying.
Can anyone help me "decode" a VIN # ?
I'm new to this board and have never had an older 4x4. I am looking at a 1971 Chevy 4x4 that the guy is listing as C20 3/4 ton. The # he gave me was KE134F113897. When I entered this number into the VIN decoder on parts suppliers website, it came back saying the # was for a 1964 fleetside 4x4? I'm confused!! I ask him for the VIN number, because when I was talking to him he said the title he had listed it as a GMC instead of a Chevy but the VIN on the title matched the truck, just so I'd know what I was looking at. The truck is not stock. It is lifted and has a nicely built 383 stroker. It looks nicely done from the pictures but I don't want to pay too much if there are a lot of discrepancies. Thanks, James |
