No fluid to rear brakes
Had soggy brakes, so replaced master cylinder. Went to bleed brakes, and the bleeder broke off. Replaced both rear wheel cylinders. Then the brake line blew out between master cylinder and rear. Replaced it as well. Went to bleed brakes, again, and nothing comes out of the rear bleeders. What's up with that? Any clues?

Your proportioning valve may be stuck or bad. Bench bleed the master cylinderand make sure it flows. Then checl the output from the proportioning valve to the rear. If you have fluid there and not the rear, then you have a bad line somewhere. My 82's proportioning valve was bad and it did what your's was doing....and i drove me nuts since I never had seen one fail before that.

I read here before (and had success with) a suggestion of stomping the crap out of the pedal in order to cause the proportioning valve to open up the rear. As I understood it, the proportioning valve may have closed off the rear if you ran dry on fluid in that chamber, but a good hard series of stomps would open it back up and get your fluid flowing.
Can someone confirm this? |

I can't confirm that, but I know what happens when you don't have good fluid pressure to the rear brakes....you blow a front wheel cylinder and loose your brakes entirely.
