This stuff is definitely not heavy but it does adhere on the entire surface with 3M spray on adhesive. I can tell it is a bit quieter when I fire up the engine but again, I'm not expecting it to make a huge difference. Most of the Dynomat type insulation I saw was more than I was willing to spend as sound reduction just isn't that important to me. This was a rubber mat floor cab so even just the carpet is going to be an improvement for me.

69 Short Fleet, no plans for a stereo in this one, I actually like driving around without a radio in this truck.

I put that very insulation in my 72 and it made a big difference in heat and sound. It really tightened up the old truck. Another thing that helps as far as sound is I have had these trucks with and without headliners and without the headliner it makes it sound like you are inside a tin can. It helps believe it or not when you have a headliner as the noise gets absorbed alot better instead of echoing around in there. You are going to like the difference that insulation makes.

Looks awesome! I used some stuff called FatMat...that is what someone up above was asking about (I think)...costs $100 and I did 3 layers on the floor/firewall, 2 layers up the back of the cab, and 1 layer in the doors...still gave some away after all that. Haven't run the truck yet but I am sure it will be a huge difference than stock.

Here are the brackets I am using under the floor to attempt to reinforce the floor - they tie into the brackets above the floor.

I bought some stuff called "fatmat" off of ebay. it is the same as dynamat and 100ft^2 cost $130 shipped. It is enough to fully do 2 cabs in about 2 or 3 layers thick. I did it on my 81.
