Right rear wheel locking up

Last night I hit the brakes and the right rear tire locked up on me. None of the others did just the right rear. Why would it do that? I wasnt hitting the brakes hard enough for a lock up.

Thanks

I agree with the wheel cylinder. A little bit of brake fluid on a shoe will wake you up in a hurry.

That would be nice. For now I will settle for a brake job on all 4 wheels. Gotta get the parts first. Probably tackle that 2 saturdays from now.

Your e-brake cable on that side could be seized. Same thing happened to me a couple years ago.

i would say the master cylinder is bad. so is the prop valve. the wheel cylinder could stand a replacement. while you are in there you might as well do the axel seal........oh sorry

Mine did that about a month ago. It was a bad wheel cylinder.

Mine did that when I had an emergency brake cable keeping the brakes on a bit. After driving a while, it would heat up and get very sensitive. Just touching the brakes made that wheel lock up.

Next time it happens, pull over and carefully feel the drums. If that wheel is alot hotter, that's most likely your problem.
