automatic 72 suburban to 5 speed getrag?
I am hoping to get some advice from some different people who have done this. I have an automatic 72 2 wheel drive suburban that I want to put a 90's model chevy 5 speed getrag manual transmission in. I was hoping to get some prep advice on some different ways to do this to make the transition go smoothly and timely.
I would like to know about the drive shaft situation, since it is a multi piece drive shaft if one out of something else would be the right length and right spline or would I have to have one cut down. Also what about the tranny crossmember situation and will a manual pedel setup out of the 67-72 work with the hydrolic clutch master. Any info, details, and advice on the different ways to do this and how to do this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

auto-5spd
you don't really want to do that... maybe a 700r4... I'll take that raggedy ole 5spd and put in place of my 3spd...
this link may help.. its not a getrag, but minus the special parts fer that tranny, you can get an idea of converting auto to man5spd coversions It may help... how much did you have to give for the getrag? Its probably cheaper than what I have been finding...which isn't much |
