Thumbs up temp light

Within the last week or 2 the temp light comes on as soon as I start my truck its a 250 6cyl. Has plenty of water and must be circulating cause heat blows hot air. Where is the sensor located on the engine?Any help would be great!

Well, yours should be in one of two places. somewhere around the water pump or right ... here (look for the black wire with the white plastic tip on the left-hand side):
